Choosing Pictures and Curating your Space

Due to the large bodies of work I create, prints are sold on a one-on-one basis (not a shopping cart approach to buying artwork). This ensures that you get the print(s) you truly want - not what I want to sell you. It also gives us time to speak, share stories about the prints, etc.

Two general ways to go are: Single Images or Currated groupings (think art gallery on your own wall).

Curation of artwork for display is a skill all to its own. If you are local it is possible for me to see the space in person; if not, you can send me details, images, dimensions etc. of your space and I can offer help based on your preferences.

An artsy friend could also go along way here.

Limited Editions and Pricing

I do not believe in using limited editions as a means of making something appear to be scarce and hence more valuable. However, I am also aware that I could stop printing work any unknown point in time - it has happened before.

Special sizes and editions for exhibitions and galleries are exceptions.

My intention is to work with you on your financial terms and share artwork. My added interest in assisting in curating your space makes pricing variable (somewhere in the realm of buying a print(s) and commissioning a curator).  Bring the gallery to you.

Archival Quality

Photographs are printed on Hahnemühle archival paper. Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance. I personally print, proof, inspect, and sign all prints.

Pricing

I make art to share with the world and I wish to share it with those who truly resonate with art and photography. For me, the pictures are love seeking and expression…and places in the manifest world.

I price my work modestly and work on a one-on-one basis to open the field up for a more equitable approach to acquiring art. Some simply have more money than others; some can afford a Picasso and some struggle simply to make ends meet. The commonality is the love and appreciation for artwork.

If you really resonate with a print I will do what I can to work with you.

Sizing

The images that I make tend to be very “compressed” such that smaller prints with larger mats give the picture room to breathe - bigger is not better. A collage, triptych, or diptych of 8 x 12 inch prints is often a much larger statement on a wall than a single large print. Of course there are exceptions - art has no rules - it just has to be beautiful in the end.

Common sizes that I typically print for my own proofs:

8 x 12 inches (11 x 17 paper)

10 x 15 inches (13 x 19 paper)

Again, like a gallery, I almost always arrange multiple pictures so 3 - 5 smaller works to fill out a normal sized wall space. I typically use simple thin black or white gallery style frames matted 3-5 inches.

Estimates, Payment, and Fulfillment

I’ll send you an estimate and/or an invoice for payment. Once payment has been received I will print, curate, deliver (local), or ship your prints to you.

Please remember, I am an independent artist; my work is creating pictures, books, exhibitions, etc. I am not a “business” fulfilling orders - I am delivery my work you. So please be patient as I work to deliver and curate your print(s).
